Project Description

Design and Build Hard and Soft Landscaping Scheme

Kings Landscapes were the appointed contractor for this Design and build contract including site clearance, excavating over 200T off site due to the levels. The site needed a reinforced blockwork 120m2 rendered wall with a drainage system behind the wall given the requirement for a full irrigation system to be installed for the soft landscaping package and lawns. All tree clearance was completed by Kings’ in-house tree gangs and all chips removed off site.

The hard landscaping included Marshall conservation paving textured 1m x 1m slabs to oval paving areas, with mild steel edging around the trees, and asphalt tar spray and chip footpaths. All lighting was supplied by Kings for up-lighters for the trees and on walkways.  Kings also installed block work and tarmac parking bays to road specifications.  Drains and gullies were moved due to change of use on the road to meet our design.

The soft landscaping included a range of trees up to 40-45cm girth in soft and hard landscape areas with specially designed tree pits for clay sub soil, with Prunus lusitanica hedging throughout the scheme.  The planting was a range of grasses, plants, and shrubs to give an all-year-round interest.
